Assistance Projects among iEARN Schools

SOS - Schools Outfiting Schools. Schools throughout the iEARN Network have joined efforts to raise resources to provide school supplies and other assistance to schools in Afghanistan and elsewhere. Here are some examples of these efforts:

Sunnyside Elementary School, Pullman, Washington. Students in the first and second grades led a school-wide campaign to raise funds for school supplies for schools in the Kandahar region of Afghanistan. Over $2,200 was raised and sent to these schools through the Afghans for Civil Society. Click Here for Details. Students also produced a 5 minute video on their project. A Quicktime copy of this video is available for downloading. It is 35 mb.

Chukker Creek Elementary School, Aiken, South Carolina (Where all children are champions): "During the first semester, our students contributed the monetary equivalent of hte small prizes they earned from the Accelerated Read program to our Points for Peace campaign. With staff and students contributions, we collected ...$600 to purchase two School-in-a-Box kits. We are proud of the altruism exhibited by our students and staff... Our students and staff are learning that it takes everyone working together for peace to exist around the world."
