Coverdell World Wise Schools - Resources Produced and Distributed.

The key publication that Coverdell World Wise Schools has distributed has been the "Voices from the Field." The Friendship Through Education paid the publisher to print 13,000 copies for distribution to US schools and organizations.. Voices from the Field, a Peace Corps’ language arts curriculum guide based on Peace Corps Volunteer stories, promotes cross-cultural understanding and global awareness.

Members of the Friendship Through Education consortium have distributed over 1300 copies to educators.

In addition to distributing the book at manypresentations at conferences, Coverdell World Wise Schools has distributed the publication to the following places:

  • Peace Corps regional recruiting offices all have copies to distribute. Regional managers have all been briefed on Coverdell World Wise Schools materials, including Voices.
  • Department chairs in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, received copies as part of field testing for Uncommon Journeys, a second collection of Peace Corps narratives.
  • The Chicago Public schools system is considering adapting Voices for use in 50 middle schools with an international studies focus.
  • San Luis Obispo County Office of Education in California distributed 350 copies through the AVID teachers. (See “Conferences” above.)
  • The Minneapolis Public Schools’ multicultural director has distributed 75 copies of Voices to multicultural coordinators in all middle schools.
  • 50 copies were distributed by People to People International
  • The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) sent copies to the heads of all of their regional and local chapters (210 copies total)
